Carbondale Police Press Release– Home Invasion and Aggravated Battery

CARBONDALE – On May 5, 2025, at 11:24 p.m., City of Carbondale Police Department Officers responded to a residence in the 800 Block of West Mill Street for a report of a stabbing. Officers learned the suspect, Branden Rogers, age 39 of Carbondale, is a known acquaintance of the victim and was at the victim’s residence. Rogers left the residence after being asked to leave, but he returned and tried to force his way back inside. Rodgers stabbed the victim, who was trying to prevent him from re-entering the residence.  The victim then struck Rogers until he left.  Rogers was arrested for Home Invasion and Aggravated Battery and treated at the emergency room for the non-life-threatening injuries he received from the victim.  Rogers was incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail pending a detention hearing.  The victim was also treated at the emergency room for non-life-threatening injuries.  Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the police department at the numbers listed below.  The investigation is active and ongoing.
