Carbondale Police Press Release - Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm

CARBONDALE – On March 31, 2024 at 9:52 p.m., a City of Carbondale police officer was conducting a foot patrol in the 400 block of East Willow when she heard shots fired in the area. Several 911 callers reported hearing the shots as well. Officers responded to a home in the 600 block of North Washington and met with the resident who reported a bullet entered the home and caused damage. No one in the home was injured. The investigation then led officers to the 300 block of East Chestnut. Officers found evidence that suggested that was the location where the shots were fired. No injuries have been reported at this time and no suspects have been identified. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
