The City of Carbondale is offering boxes filled with fresh food from Cusumano & Sons, Inc. during our Summer Food Box Giveaway on Friday, August 7, starting at 8:30 a.m., continuing until supplies last.  

"One of the strengths of Carbondale is the way our community comes together to support one another” says City Manager, Stan Reno. “This food box distribution is another opportunity to help families and individuals access fresh and nutritious food while easing some of the financial pressures many households continue to face. Events like this reflect the City's commitment to supporting the health and well-being of our residents. We are pleased to provide this opportunity and hope it offers meaningful support to those who participate." 

Citizens wishing to receive a food box can drive through the West parking lot of City Hall during the event to pick up a food box for their household.   

We are offering food box delivery for Carbondale citizens who live within city limits who are homebound. Delivery service is available exclusively for residents with mobility challenges who are unable to leave their homes.   

To request a food box delivery contact Faith Johnson at fjohnson@carbondaleil.gov or by calling 618-457-3229. All food box delivery requests must be submitted by 5:00 PM on Tuesday, August 4. Deliveries will only be made to addresses in Carbondale.
