Carbondale Police Press Release - Possession of a Stolen Vehicle

CARBONDALE – On July 6, 2026, at about 12:56 p.m., a City of Carbondale Police Officer located a vehicle that had been reported stolen from Russiaville, Indiana, in the 1200 block of West Pleasant Hill Road in Carbondale. Officers learned the suspect in the case was Michael T. Agee, 48, of Lafayette, Indiana. The vehicle was unoccupied when originally discovered, but the driver, Agee, soon returned. During the investigation, Agee was arrested for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail. The vehicle was impounded pending notification of the owner. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the police department at the numbers listed below. The investigation is active and ongoing.
