Carbondale Police Press Release - Aggravated Battery Firearm

CARBONDALE – On June 19, 2026, at 12:53 a.m., City of Carbondale Police Officers responded to the 200 block of West Jackson Street in reference to a gunshot victim. Officers located the victim in a parking lot. The victim was taken by ambulance to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. At approximately 1:00 a.m. a second gunshot victim was dropped off at the hospital by an acquaintance. The second gunshot victim was treated and is in stable condition. The second subject with a gunshot wound is considered a suspect in the shooting of the first victim. Both parties involved are acquaintances and have been involved in an ongoing dispute with each other. No names are being released at this time.
