Carbondale Police Press Release– Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon

CARBONDALE – On March 9, 2026, at approximately 5:05 p.m., City of Carbondale Police Officers observed an individual illegally gambling and conducting narcotics sales in the 700 block of South Lewis Lane. Officers arrested Simeon C. Patterson, 32, of Carbondale, and found him to be in possession of cannabis, cocaine, and a firearm previously reported stolen to the Carbondale Police Department.

 During the investigation, officers applied for and received a search warrant for the residence.  Additional evidence of firearms violations was seized upon execution of the warrant.

Patterson was arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Armed Violence.  Patterson was incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail pending a detention hearing.
