Carbondale Police Press Release - Business Burglary

CARBONDALE – On March 8, 2026, at 4:06 a.m., City of Carbondale Police Officers responded to a business in the 500 block of East Main Street for a report of a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, offices saw two suspects running from the building. Officers apprehended one of the suspects after a brief foot chase. The suspect was identified as a 15-year-old juvenile male from Carbondale. The juvenile was found to be in possession of credit cards belonging to another person. During the investigation, officers learned that three suspects, all dressed in dark colored clothing, damaged property at the business while attempting to gain entry. The juvenile was arrested for Burglary, Criminal Damage to Property, Resisting a Peace Officer, and Possession of Lost or Mislaid Credit Card. The juvenile was detained at the Jackson County Jail while awaiting transfer to a juvenile detention facility pending an appearance in court.
