CARBONDALE – On March 5, 2026, Damiyah was found to be safe and was returned to her family. The public’s assistance with this incident is greatly appreciated.
Prior Release - The City of Carbondale Police Department is asking the public’s assistance in locating Damiyah N. Barners, age 14, of Carbondale. On March 5, 2026, at 2:50 a.m., officers learned Damiyah was last seen on March 4, 2026, at about 5:00 p.m. in the 2000 block of South Illinois Avenue. Damiyah is described as 5’06” tall, weighing 190 pounds, with black hair in pigtails and brown eyes. Damiyah was wearing a black shirt with white lettering, black pants, and Grinch house shoes. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the police department at the numbers listed below. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
