As the National Weather Service forecasts potentially hazardous winter weather for the upcoming weekend, the City of Carbondale is actively preparing to respond. A press release (reference here) has been put out with full information regarding emergency snow routes, shelters, and safety tips for winter storms.
We are now releasing each subject individually for assurance of receiving and ease of taking in information.
There are several shelters and resource centers within the City of Carbondale for people to access. Below are the listings with the address, phone numbers, and a brief description of their services.
Good Samaritan House:

Food, shelter, clothing & supplies when available. Cold weather policy that allows extra guests overnight stay enacted when temperature is 32 or below. Please call shelter for check-in/checkout times. Donations of toiletries, underwear, socks, coats, canned goods and other essentials always welcomed- please call shelter first to coordinate drop off at the Good Samaritan House or the Good Samaritan Food Pantry located at the University Baptist Church. Please call ahead to see if there is room available for overnight stays.

Food, shelter, clothing & supplies when available. Seeking donations of toilet paper, paper towels, paper plates, and coffee at this time. Seeking volunteers at this time.
