Carbondale Police Press Release - Unlawful Use of a Weapon Investigation

CARBONDALE – On December 11, 2025, at about 8:50 a.m. the Carbondale Police Department’s Special Response Team along with members of the Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System (ILEAS) executed a Jackson County search warrant at a residence in the 200 block of South Friedline Drive in response to multiple ongoing weapons-related investigations. No arrests were made as a result of the service of the warrant, but evidence was collected in furtherance of the investigation. A Civic Alert was sent out requesting the public to avoid the area during the investigation, and a reassurance that the response was not due to a public threat. Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the police department at the numbers listed below. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
