Carbondale Police Press Release– Theft from a Motor Vehicle

CARBONDALE – On December 7, 2025, at 10:31 a.m., City of Carbondale Police Officers responded to the 1100 block of East Grand Avenue for a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle. Officers learned that unknown suspects entered a vehicle and stole property.  During the investigation, officers located and arrested two juvenile male suspects and recovered some of the stolen property. The juveniles were arrested for Theft from a Motor Vehicle and released to their parents pending a court appearance. In accordance with the Illinois Juvenile Justice Act, the names of the juveniles will not be released. Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the police department at the numbers listed below. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
