Carbondale Police Press Release -Traffic Crash

CARBONDALE – On September 8, 2025, at 12:46 p.m., City of Carbondale Police Officers responded to the 500 block of North Illinois Avenue for a report of a traffic crash. Officers learned the driver of a U-Haul truck exited a private parking lot and was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound on North Illinois Avenue. Both drivers were taken to the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the U-Haul truck was issued a citation for Failure to Yield Right of Way and released pending a court appearance. A Civic Ready Alert was sent out requesting motorists to avoid the area during the investigation.
