Carbondale Police Press Release - Aggravated Battery with a Firearm

CARBONDALE – On August 16, 2025, at 3:39 a.m., City of Carbondale police officers responded to the emergency room at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for a report of a gunshot victim. Officers met with an adult victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim reported being at a gathering of individuals in the 400 block of North Washington Street when shots were fired. According to the victim, the motive for the shooting appears to be the result of a recent dispute between the victim and known acquaintances. Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the Carbondale Police Department at the numbers listed below.  The investigation into the incident remains active and ongoing.
