DETAILS
WHAT WHEN WHERE IMPACTS
Blowing & Drifting Snow
Confidence: Low
Tuesday through Tuesday Night Livingston, Big Timber, and Harlowton Areas Strong winds gusting 40-55 mph will produce blowing snow wherever any lingering snow exists, quickly and drastically reducing visibility along I-90 from Big Timber through Livingston and along US-191 from Big Timber through Judith Gap.
Snowfall
Confidence: Moderate
Late Tuesday through Thursday Afternoon South-Central and Southeast MT, and Northeast WY There will be two rounds of snow occurring that encompasses the snow probability and impact graphics attached at the bottom of this email. The first round occurs late Tuesday through Wednesday morning, and the second occurs late Wednesday Night through Thursday Morning. Confidence is higher for widespread snow occurring in the second round, and while snow will occur in the first round, the location of the snow contains more uncertainty at this time.
Cold
Confidence: High
Wednesday Night through Friday Morning South-Central and Southeast MT, and Northeast WY Cold returns with the mid-week system, with Thursday night into Friday morning containing the lowest temperatures. Currently, there is a 60-90% chance for wind chills to drop below -20°F across eastern MT (and a 40% chance around Billings).
Ice Jams
Confidence: Low
This Week Southeast MT and Northeast WY We have observed small signs of Ice Jams occurring in a few streams across the area, including the Tongue River, Power River, Little Goose Creek, Goose Creek, and Rosebud Creek. Ice jam potential will continue throughout this week.
