As of 1 p.m., Tropical Storm Edouard is making landfall east of Sabine Pass along the Texas-Louisiana border. Impacts in Galveston County are expected to remain limited, with periods of rain remaining the primary concern.

Local Impacts

• Watches/Warnings

• La Marque is not currently included in any tropical weather watches or warnings.

• Wind

• Wind gusts have been reduced to approximately 30 mph and are expected to continue decreasing through the evening.

• Sustained winds are expected to remain around 20 mph or less before diminishing later tonight.

• Rain

• The heaviest rain bands have shifted eastward, reducing expected rainfall totals for our area.

• 3 to 5 inches of rain remain possible across portions of Galveston County.
• A Slight Risk of Excessive Rainfall remains in place through today, with conditions expected to improve tomorrow.
• Localized street flooding remains possible in low-lying and poor-drainage areas.

• Storm Surge

• Storm surge impacts are expected to remain confined to coastal areas east of Galveston County.
