Tropical Storm Edouard Update: Limited Local Impacts Expected

As of 1 p.m., Tropical Storm Edouard is making landfall east of Sabine Pass along the Texas-Louisiana border. Impacts in Galveston County are expected to remain limited, with periods of rain remaining the primary concern.

La Marque is not currently included in any tropical weather watches or warnings.
• Wind

Wind gusts have been reduced to approximately 30 mph and are expected to continue decreasing through the evening.
- Sustained winds are expected to remain around 20 mph or less before diminishing later tonight.
• Rain

The heaviest rain bands have shifted eastward, reducing expected rainfall totals for our area.
- 3 to 5 inches of rain remain possible across portions of Galveston County.
- A Slight Risk of Excessive Rainfall remains in place through today, with conditions expected to improve tomorrow.
- Localized street flooding remains possible in low-lying and poor-drainage areas.

Storm surge impacts are expected to remain confined to coastal areas east of Galveston County.
