PROJECT UPDATE: Bayou Road & Main Street Sewer Line Emergency Repair
The City is responding to an emergency repair involving a major sewer line near the intersection of Bayou Road and Main Street (FM519). Residents should expect traffic delays, lane impacts, and active work zones in the area as crews assess and repair this critical wastewater infrastructure.

Initial assessments indicate the failure involves an 18-inch steel sewer line encased in concrete. Evaluation found that the line has collapsed from the intersection to a nearby manhole, affecting approximately 575 feet of sewer line. Due to the extent of the damage, a contractor is evaluating repair options to improve long-term reliability.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution, follow all traffic control devices, and allow extra travel time when traveling through the area. Because this repair involves underground wastewater infrastructure, weather conditions, particularly heavy rainfall, could affect construction activities, traffic impacts, and the condition of the damaged line.

Additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available. We appreciate the community's patience and thank residents for partnering with us to help maintain a safe work environment for crews as they complete this important emergency repair.
