The City of La Marque Office of Emergency Management is monitoring Tropical Depression Five, which is expected to strengthen into a tropical storm tonight. Elevated rainfall totals remain the primary concern for our area, with the greatest impacts expected during the day Tuesday.

What Residents Need to Know

• Tropical Depression Five is expected to strengthen to a tropical storm by tonight.

• A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for portions of Galveston County.

• Heavy rainfall remains the primary threat, particularly along and east of Interstate 45.

• Rainfall totals of 3 to 5 inches are expected, with isolated amounts of 6 to 9 inches possible.

• The highest impacts are expected Tuesday.

• Sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph are possible, with gusts up to 40 mph, especially along the coast.
