FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: CLOSURE OF TREKELL ROAD FOR OVERNIGHT ROADWORK SCHEDULED BEGINNING JUNE 23.

Casa Grande, AZ – Beginning Monday, June 23, through approximately Thursday, July 3, contractors working on behalf of the City of Casa Grande will begin overnight roadwork on Trekell Road, from Rodeo Road to McCartney Road, as part of the Trekell Road Improvement Project. Operations will require complete closure to all traffic. 

Work will take place on weeknights from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. and will include slurry seal and final paving operations. To minimize daytime disruptions and support efficient construction, Trekell Road will be closed nightly during work hours and will reopen each morning to allow for regular traffic flow. 

Barricades will be in place, and motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, follow detour routes, and obey all posted traffic signs. Police will be on site to help ensure safety within the work zone. 

The $5.8 million project includes widening Trekell Road from two lanes to four lanes between Avenida Luna and McCartney Road and adding a two-way left turn lane at McCartney Road. Construction will include the installation of new asphalt, curbs, gutters, driveways, and a median near Casa Grande Union High School. 

Infrastructure upgrades include box culvert replacement, catch basins, traffic signals, streetlights, sidewalks, and improved ADA-compliant sidewalks. The improvements aim to support the city’s continued growth by increasing roadway capacity and improving traffic flow.
