FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: City of Casa Grande to Host Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for New Playground at O’Neil Park

Casa Grande, AZ – The City of Casa Grande is pleased to announce the installation of new playground equipment at O’Neil Park, located at 490 E. Cottonwood Lane. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. to celebrate this exciting addition to the community. 

The new playground at O’Neil Park represents a major step forward in play equity, featuring innovative equipment that supports children of all abilities. The combination of transfer stations, climbers, and slides empowers children to control their own play experience and move independently. The design reflects a commitment to universal accessibility, creating a welcoming space where all kids can play, explore, and connect. 

“Creating inclusive spaces like this playground is essential to the health and happiness of our community,” said Mayor Lisa Fitzgibbons. “Play is more than just fun—it’s how children grow, learn, and connect with others. We are proud to provide a space where every child, regardless of ability, can feel included.” 

The ceremony will include a welcome from Community Services Director Daniel Gallegos and remarks from Mayor Fitzgibbons. Local officials, community leaders, and residents are invited to join the celebration and help mark this important milestone in making Casa Grande parks more inclusive and accessible for everyone. 

Following the ceremony, attendees will be invited to explore and enjoy the new playground.
