Nighttime Road Closures & Lane Restrictions

APS and ED2 will be relocating power lines and equipment overnight at Trekell Road and Florence Boulevard on September 11 through September 18.

Work hours: 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. nightly

What drivers need to know:

• Trekell Road: Northbound and southbound closures at Florence Boulevard during nighttime work.
• Florence Boulevard: Lane restrictions in both directions.
• Traffic control will be in place during work hours and removed each morning.
• Message boards will be posted to alert drivers.

Drivers should use caution, follow posted detours and allow extra time when traveling through the area.

COTTONWOOD LANE & TREKELL ROAD

Traffic Restrictions Planned for Week of September 14

Drivers should be aware of planned traffic restrictions at the intersection of Cottonwood Lane and Trekell Road from Monday, September 14 through Friday, September 18.

A contractor for the City of Casa Grande’s Trekell Road Sewer project is scheduled to perform potholing work within the intersection. A traffic control setup will be in place throughout the week to safely accommodate the work.

What drivers need to know:

• Traffic will be restricted to right turns only through the intersection.
• Drivers will not be able to travel straight through the intersection or make left turns.
• Please follow all posted signs, traffic control devices and directions from flaggers.
• Drivers should allow additional time or consider an alternate route.

Drivers are encouraged to use caution and slow down when traveling through the work area. Please plan ahead and drive safely.

TRAFFIC SIGNAL CHANGES

Trekell Road & Jimmie Kerr Boulevard

The City of Casa Grande is changing the traffic signal pattern at Trekell Road and Jimmie Kerr Boulevard to help reduce congestion and improve traffic flow.

What drivers will notice

• Northbound and southbound traffic will move separately.
• Each direction will have a protected left-turn arrow.
• When your direction has a green light, you may turn left, turn right or continue straight, depending on your lane.
• The signal cycle will increase from approximately 75 seconds to 100 seconds to give traffic more time to clear the intersection.

The changes will be installed at night with minimal traffic impacts.

Drivers should pay attention to the new signal pattern and allow extra time as they become familiar with the changes.

As new traffic signals are activated throughout Casa Grande, motorists may notice that the signals will initially operate in flashing red mode before becoming fully operational.

The signal will operate in flashing red mode for about one week. Drivers should treat the intersection as a four-way stop by stopping completely and proceeding only when it is safe.

Portable message boards will be placed in advance of the intersection to notify drivers of the upcoming traffic change and encourage extra caution.

Following the transition period, the traffic signals will be placed into normal operation, and motorists should obey the traffic signal indications.
