CGAlerts: City of Casa Grande Announces Ribbon Cutting for Upgraded Playground at Western Manor Park
Casa Grande, AZ - The City of Casa Grande Community Services Department is pleased to announce the completion of a new playground at Western Manor Park and invites the public to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the upgrade.
Western Manor Park, originally built in 1983, has long served as a central gathering space for families within the Western Manor subdivision. The new playground replaces aging equipment with safe and modern play features designed to better meet the needs of the neighborhood’s children and families.
“The investment in Western Manor Park reflects our continued commitment to maintaining high-quality recreational spaces throughout our community,” said Brandon Washington, Recreation Superintendent. “This is one of two park refresh projects that we have this year, thanks to the Neighborhood Park Improvement Fund.”
The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place:
Friday, April 17th
9:00 am
Western Manor Park – 1373 W. Rose Pl. Casa Grande, AZ 85122
This project aligns with national best practices that highlight the vital role parks play in community wellbeing. According to the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), local parks are essential for:
- Promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyles
- Supporting mental and emotional wellbeing through access to nature
- Creating safe, inclusive spaces for youth and families to gather
- Strengthening neighborhood connections and enhancing overall quality of life
This is the 6th park in the past couple of years that has been refurbished in the city, with one more coming this summer – Burrus Park. The City encourages all Western Manor residents and community members to attend and celebrate the reopening of this treasured neighborhood park.
