CITY OF CASA GRANDE OPENS APPLICATIONS FOR 2026 RESIDENT LEADERSHIP ACADEMY
The City of Casa Grande is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 2026 Resident Leadership Academy. This nine-week program gives residents a unique, behind-the-scenes look at how their local government operates and the many services that support daily life in Casa Grande.
Participants will explore a different city function each week through presentations and guided tours led by department directors and staff. Since its launch in 2003, the free academy has helped residents better understand their community, how it is managed, and how they can get involved.
The Leadership Academy is open to Casa Grande residents aged 18 and older. Sessions take place every Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., beginning February 4, 2026. This year’s schedule also features an optional March 4 session, which includes the annual State of the City address. The program concludes with a graduation ceremony for participants who complete at least eight of the nine sessions.
Arizona Public Service (APS) continues its long-time support of the academy. “It’s an honor to support Casa Grande residents as they learn about their city and gain valuable tools to become more engaged,” said Richard Rosales, APS Public Affairs Manager for the Southeast.
Many Leadership Academy graduates have gone on to volunteer with local nonprofits and serve on city boards, commissions, and committees. “This program is a wonderful opportunity for both new and long-time residents,” said Mayor Lisa Navarro-Fitzgibbons. “We encourage our community to stay informed and involved, and the Leadership Academy is an excellent way to do that.”
Applications are due by January 2, 2026. Selected participants will be notified on January 6 and must confirm their commitment no later than Friday, January 9. Space is limited, so early applications are encouraged.
