New Bern: Body Found in Trent River
BODY FOUND IN TRENT RIVER
At 1:24 p.m. today, the New Bern Police Department responded to a report of a body found in the Trent River behind 100 Sky Sail Blvd.
A white male in his early 50s was pulled from the water before police arrived. The cause of death is unknown at this time.
New Bern Police investigators and forensic staff responded to the scene and have initiated a death investigation. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Although the cause of death has not been determined, there is no indication of any threat to the community.
