New Bern: Sidewalk Repairs Mean New Ingress/Egress Pattern at the Fire Department
Due to sidewalk repairs necessary at New Bern Fire-Rescue's Headquarters Station (on Neuse Boulevard), the department will begin using a new ingress egress pattern for daily access.
A contractor is set to begin today, Tuesday, December 9, demolishing the sidewalk along the First Street driveway to our department. It is in disrepair and has collapsed in some areas. The demolition of the current sidewalk and repouring and curing of the new sidewalk are expected to take approximately 3 weeks. During that time, personnel will use the Fort Totten driveway to access the headquarters station. We're sending this alert to New Bern Alerts subscribers who live in the adjacent neighborhood that they may see and hear firetrucks and other apparatus using Fort Totten Drive.
