Officer Chase McIntyre was nominated for the “Outstanding Rookie of the Year” award, a testament to his remarkable impact in his first year of service.

In recognition of their extraordinary efforts, Officer John Fisher and Officer Riley Howard were each presented with the prestigious Centurion Award, which honors officers who have made over 100 DUI arrests in a single year.

“We are incredibly proud of our officers for their commitment to keeping our community safe,” said Police Chief John Cregan. “Their work not only saves lives but also reflects the highest standards of professionalism and service to our community.”

Last year, the Santa Rosa Police Department was named the “2024 MADD Outstanding Agency of the Year” in recognition of traffic safety and enforcement efforts in 2023. In the first months of 2025, Santa Rosa Police officers have made a total of 340 arrests for driving under the influence.  Chief Cregan made traffic safety a department priority, and DUI collisions are down 24% in 2025. There were 110 DUI collisions in the first six months of 2024 and 84 DUI collisions in the first six months of 2025.  So far this year, officers have made 11,282 traffic stops and issued 5,546 traffic citations.

Our officers will continue to proactively work to keep our community safe. SRPD remains committed to proactive DUI enforcement and to supporting initiatives that promote safe and sober driving throughout the city.
