4th of July Celebrations and Special Event Traffic Advisory

The “Fired Up Freedom 2025” celebration is at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds, 1350 Maple Avenue, on Friday, July 4th. In addition to the fun festivities, we expect to see heavy traffic in and around the area of the fairgrounds before and after the event. Please plan accordingly and be cautious of pedestrians in the area making their way to and from the venue. 

The event begins at 8:00 PM and ends at 10:00 PM; however, gates will open early, so expect heavy traffic earlier in the evening.  

Additionally, the Santa Rosa Police Department will be upstaffing throughout the holiday weekend to address the illegal use and possession of fireworks, disruptive celebrations, and impaired driving. All fireworks, even the “safe-and-sane" variety, are illegal in Santa Rosa. Violators may face fines and/or arrest for the use or possession of fireworks.  

We understand this is a time to celebrate; we just ask that you do so responsibly. If you plan on drinking or using any substance that may impair your driving, please designate a driver or order a taxi or rideshare service. Celebrate responsibly, your safety and the safety of others is counting on it.
