Man Arrested for Stabbing at Bicentennial Park
On June 3, 2025, at approximately 6:05 PM, the Santa Rosa Police Department (SRPD) responded to a report of a stabbing at Bicentennial Park, located at 974 Russell Avenue in Santa Rosa. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, a 43-year-old male, suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment.
Responding SRPD officers quickly identified the suspect as 39-year-old Gerry Flickenger. SRPD officers located and detained Flickenger at an apartment complex in the 800 block of Russell Avenue, where he was taken into custody without incident.
SRPD Violent Crimes Detectives and Field Evidence Technicians responded to the scene to conduct a thorough investigation. Investigators learned that the victim was attacked by Flickenger following a verbal altercation in the park. During the attack, the victim was stabbed multiple times in the head and neck.
Following Flickenger’s arrest, a search warrant was obtained and executed at a residence associated with him in the 800 block of Russell Avenue.
Flickenger was ultimately transported to the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility and booked on the following charge:
- 664/187 PC – Attempted Murder
