Search Warrant Service Results in Discovery of 3D Firearm Printing Operation

On Saturday, June 1, 2024, at approximately 11:40 a.m., Santa Rosa Police Department (SRPD) officers served a search warrant at a residence in the 1900 block of Waltzer Rd. in Santa Rosa, following an investigation of identity theft fraud. Officers, along with an SRPD Field & Evidence Technician (FET), collected multiple items of evidence during the service of the search warrant. In addition, while searching a camper on blocks in the driveway of the residence, officers located parts to firearms and equipment to manufacture firearms. A further search of the camper by SRPD detectives revealed a loaded unserialized functional firearm, (4) unserialized 3D printed lower handgun receivers, milled and ready to assemble, a set of unserialized upper and lower receivers to an AR-15 rifle, a 3D printer, and a useable amount of suspected Methamphetamine. The suspect in possession of the firearm and manufacturing parts, Garrett Robinson, a 30-year-old resident of Santa Rosa was arrested and transported to the Sonoma County Jail for the following offenses:

29800(a)(1) PC- Felon or addict in possession of a firearm
29180(b) PC- Possession of self-assembled firearm without a serial number with DOJ.
23920(b) PC- Possession of a unserialized firearm.
29010(b) PC- 3D printing/manufacturing a firearm or firearm parts.
11377(a) HS- Possession of suspected Methamphetamine.
11370.1(a) HS- Possession of controlled substances while armed with a loaded firearm.


The original suspect, Richard Alander, a 55-year-old male resident of Santa Rosa was present during the search. He was arrested and transported to the Sonoma County Jail for the following offenses:

530.5(c)(1) PC-Unauthorized possession of personal identifying information.
1203.2(a) PC-Violation of probation (2 counts)
