SRPD News Release: Motorcycle collision update
On Tuesday April 30, 2024, at approximately 2:55 p.m., officers with the Santa Rosa Police Department (SRPD) and Santa Rosa Fire Department (SRFD) personnel were dispatched to the intersection of Hopper Avenue and Airway Drive for a reported collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck. Several witnesses called 911 and reported the pickup truck had collided with the motorcycle then fled the scene. The motorcyclist was lying unresponsive in the roadway.
SRPD Accident Investigators responded to the scene with fire and medical personnel. The motorcyclist appeared to have life-threatening injuries and was immediately transported to a local hospital. Several witnesses told investigators the motorcyclist was traveling east on Hopper Avenue with a green light when the pickup truck made a left turn in front of the motorcycle from westbound Hopper, trying to turn to southbound Airway. The pickup truck collided with the motorcycle in the intersection of Hopper Avenue and Airway Drive, and immediately fled the scene. The driver of the pickup truck did not stop to render aid to the motorcyclist or call 911 to report the collision.
Witnesses told investigators that the pickup truck was a Ford F150, possibly grey or silver in color. Accident Investigators have worked diligently to develop information that may lead to the identification of the involved pickup truck and any occupant(s) at the time of the collision.
SRPD is looking for the public’s help in locating the suspect vehicle involved in this collision.

- FX4 sticker on the bed of the truck
- No front license plate
- Rectangular fog lamps
- Silver side steps
The driver was possibly wearing a black and white flannel-style top. The driver’s gender, age, and race are unknown at this time.
