WANTED: Attempted Homicide Suspect

Detectives with the Santa Rosa Police Department Gang Crimes Team are seeking the community’s assistance in locating an attempted homicide suspect. Nathan Little Bear Hoaglin Jr., a 21-year-old resident of Ukiah, is suspected in the shooting of a 26-year-old man in the 500 block of Barham Avenue on February 18, 2024. Hoaglin is a Native American male, with brown hair and brown eyes, and is approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing approximately 160 pounds.

At approximately 3:55 pm on February 18, 2024, SRPD officers were dispatched to an area hospital to investigate a report of a gunshot victim in the emergency department. The victim, a 26-year-old resident of Santa Rosa, was with friends in the 500 block of Barham Avenue when he became involved in an argument with a different group of subjects as they walked by. Hoaglin was one of the subjects involved in the argument. During the argument, it is believed Hoaglin brandished a firearm and shot the victim one time in the shoulder. The victim was transported to an area hospital by family members, where he was treated and later released.

Based on information learned during the investigation, it is believed the shooting is gang-related. Hoaglin and the firearm used in this incident are still outstanding. An arrest warrant for attempted homicide has been issued for Hoaglin.
