Brandishing of firearm incident leads to arrest and location of two firearms

 

On February 23, 2024 at approximately 1:34 PM, a reporting party called Santa Rosa Police Department to report a male subject in a black Chevrolet Silverado truck brandished a firearm at him as he was driving through the 3200 block of Coffey Lane. The reporting party followed the subject and was able to provide a license plate to Santa Rosa Police Dispatchers. A Santa Rosa Police Officer located the vehicle driving westbound on Piner Road. Santa Rosa Police Officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop on the vehicle which yielded in the area of Piner Road and Fulton Road. The driver who was identified as thirty-seven-year-old Van Nuys resident Eduardo Recinosoto was detained. A probable cause search of the truck resulted in the location of two fully loaded firearms in the center console. The first firearm was identified as a Springfield Armory XD 9-millimeter pistol.  The second firearm was identified as a Cimarron 357 caliber revolver.  The reporting party positively identified Recinosoto as the subject who brandished the firearm. A records check confirmed Recinosoto is prohibited from owning and or possessing firearms. 

Recinosoto was arrested and booked for PC 417(a)(2) – Brandish a firearm, PC 422(a) – Criminal threats, PC 25850(a) – Possession of a loaded firearm in a public place, PC 25400(a)(1) – Possession of a firearm concealed in a vehicle and PC 29800(a)(1) – Felon in possession of a loaded firearm.
