SRFD News Release: NWS Possibly Sending Out Wireless Emergency Alerts to Sonoma County Residents
- Flash Flooding (less than 15% chance)
- Severe Thunderstorm (less than 10% chance)
- Tornado (less than 3% chance)
NWS Possibly Sending Out Wireless Emergency Alerts to Sonoma County Residents
Per the National Weather Service (NWS), the ongoing storm system has a slight chance of triggering the NWS to send out Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) to be sent to residents of Sonoma County. The exact location of any WEAs sent will depend on the conditions within a targeted geographical area.
Wireless Emergency Alerts:
A WEA may be sent by NWS to residents of Sonoma County beginning at any point between 11 p.m. tonight (2/18) and 8 a.m. tomorrow (2/19) based on the current forecast.
