On 1/10/2023 at approximately 1300 hrs., Detectives from the SRPD Gang Crimes Team served a search warrant in the 1600 block of Elmwood Terrance in Santa Rosa.  During the search, Detectives located a 9mm handgun loaded with a 30-round magazine.  Near the firearm Detectives also located an illegal “Glock Switch.”  The switch can be affixed to the gun’s slide, making the handgun a fully automatic weapon.  Additional ammunition and gang paraphernalia were also located.  Matteo Ramirez-Sandoval (a 19 year old, resident of Santa Rosa) was contacted and detained at another location.  Ramirez-Sandoval was subsequently arrested and booked at the Sonoma County Jail for charges related to the illegal weapon.  The charges consisted of 32625 PC: Possession of machine gun, 23920(b)PC: Possession non serialized firearm, 29820(a)PC: Prohibited person possess firearm, and 186.22(b)(1) PC Gang Enhancement.
