Santa Rosa, Calif. – On Friday December 16th 2023, 2 drivers were arrested for DUI.
The DUI checkpoint was held at Stony Point Road and Stony Point Circle from 8:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m.
37 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed and 3 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle with a suspended/revoked license, 747 vehicles were contacted and 10 drivers were evaluated for DUI. 2 drivers were arrested for a misdemeanor warrants.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
