SRPD News Release:

SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR DUI COLLISION, SECOND DUI ARREST IN THREE WEEKS

On Monday October 2nd  2023, at approximately 11:15pm Santa Rosa Police Officers responded to the 3500 block of westbound Highway 12 for a solo vehicle collision.

SRPD officers and Fire and Medical personal located silver Subaru Outback on its side in the roadway. Officers contacted the solo occupant and driver of the vehicle, identified as Jack Hauptman, a 24-year-old resident of Santa Rosa.

While speaking with Hauptman, investigating officers observed that he was displaying objective symptoms of intoxication. A DUI investigation was conducted, and Hauptman was found to be almost 3 times the legal limit of .08%. Hauptman was arrested for DUI and was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries. He was treated and release and booked for 23152(a)VC DUI, and 23152(b)VC DUI above .08%.

A records check of Hauptman showed that he had just been arrested in the last three weeks for DUI as well and his blood alcohol was at that time was also well past the legal limit of .08%.

California DUI fines range from $390 to $5,000 plus penalty assessments & fees that can raise the total cost to $18,000, depending on your DUI charge. DUI with injury or property damage may also require you to pay injured parties. DUIs can also be deadly.
