SRPD News Release: Thank You for Attending Our E-Bike Safety Meeting. Another Opportunity on October 22

Thank You for Attending Our E-Bike Safety Meeting. Another Opportunity on October 22

Thank you to everyone who attended last week's E-Bike Safety Community Meeting at Piner High School. We appreciated the thoughtful questions, engaged discussion, and shared commitment to keeping our students and community members safe. Watch a recording of this video on our YouTube channel here: https://youtu.be/TwR0ffox37M.

For those who were unable to attend, there is still another opportunity to join the conversation. The Santa Rosa Police Department (SRPD) and the Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition will host a second E-Bike Safety Community Meeting on:

OCT. 22nd at 6:00 p.m.: Maria Carrillo High School, Performing Arts Theatre, 6975 Montecito Blvd.

The presentation will cover:

  • California e-bike laws and classifications
  • Helmet requirements and age restrictions
  • Common violations and enforcement trends
  • Age-appropriate and legal e-bike options
  • Practical safety tips to help prevent crashes and serious injuries

Whether you are a parent, caregiver, student, educator, or community member, this meeting provides an opportunity to hear directly from law enforcement and bicycle safety experts, ask questions, and learn more about safe e-bike use in our community.

Requests for translation, including disability-related aids or services, can be made by contacting SRPD at khawkins@srcity.org or 707-543-3556.

We look forward to seeing you on October 22 and continuing this important community conversation.

Media inquiries can be directed to Sgt. Patricia Seffens, Public Information Officer, at 707-543-3634 or pseffens@srcity.org.
