Santa Rosa Police Department Arrests Two Driver's for DUI
On Friday August 28, 2026 2 drivers were arrested for DUI.
The DUI checkpoint was held at 5TH Street and Morgan Street from 8:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m.
18 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed and 1 driver was cited for operating a vehicle with a suspended/revoked license, 747 vehicles were contacted, and 13 drivers were evaluated for DUI. One driver was cited for driving with an open container of alcohol and one driver was arrested for an outstanding felony warrant for robbery.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
