Santa Rosa Police Department Looking to Identify Additional Victims Following Arrest for Sexual Assault-Related Offenses
On July 29, 2026, detectives with the Santa Rosa Police Department (SRPD) Domestic Violence Sexual Assault Team (DVSA) arrested Koa Brooks, a 28-year-old resident of Santa Rosa, in connection with multiple violent sexual assault-related offenses, including rape by force, rape of an intoxicated person, and felony assault likely to cause great bodily injury or death. The investigation continued following Brooks’s arrest, leading detectives to identify additional victims that had not reported their victimization to law enforcement.
Detectives believe there may still be additional victims or witnesses who have not yet contacted law enforcement. Detectives believe Brooks contacted women on social media and may have used the alias “Ty” or something similar. To protect the privacy and dignity of those involved, the Santa Rosa Police Department will not be releasing specific details regarding the reported incidents.
Sexual violence investigations often involve highly personal and traumatic circumstances. The Santa Rosa Police Department recognizes that reporting sexual violence can be difficult. Victims may experience fear, uncertainty, embarrassment, or concerns about whether they will be believed. We want anyone who may have information to know that they are not alone. Trained investigators and victim advocates are available to provide support and explain available options.
