Suspect arrested after loaded firearm and narcotics were found in vehicle

On August 13, 2026, at approximately 2:51 a.m., an officer with the Santa Rosa Police Department conducted a traffic stop for expired registration in the area of College Avenue and Cleveland Avenue in Santa Rosa. During the stop, the officer discovered the passenger was on felony probation with a full search clause.

The driver, 48-year-old Petaluma resident Bambi Bryant, and her passenger were removed from the vehicle. During a pat search of Bryant, a glass pipe commonly used for smoking methamphetamine was located. A probable cause search was conducted on Bryant’s vehicle. A loaded .38 caliber Smith and Wesson revolver belonging to Bryant was located. Additionally, another similar glass smoking pipe was located along with Vicodin pills. Officers also found numerous identification cards, Social Security cards, and checks that did not belong to Bryant or her passenger in the vehicle.

Bryant was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Jail for the following charges:
11370.1(a) HS-Possession of controlled substance while armed
25850(a) PC-Carrying a loaded firearm in public
530.5(c)(3) PC-Posses ID of 10+ persons
25400(a)(1) PC-Carry concealed weapon in vehicle
11377(a) HS-Posses controlled substance
11364(a) HS-Posses unlawful paraphernalia
