Search Warrant Leads to Possession of Cocaine and Methamphetamine for Sale Arrest
In early June 2023, the Santa Rosa Police Department Narcotics Team began an investigation into a subject who was believed to be distributing large amounts of cocaine in Santa Rosa and its surrounding areas. Detectives authored a search warrant for the subject, later identified as 35-year-old Windsor resident, Adan Valencia-Velazquez, his vehicles, and his residence.
On 7/12/23, at approximately 1530 hours, detectives responded to the 6600 block of Andrew Way, Windsor to execute the service of the search warrant. Upon knock/notice, Valencia-Velazquez was observed throwing a plastic shopping bag over his rear fence. All occupants were later detained without incident. Inside the shopping bag that Valencia-Velazquez threw over the fence were two kilograms (4.4 pounds) of suspected cocaine. A search of the residence yielded approximately five pounds of suspected methamphetamine. Other items were also located that were indicative of sales.
The suspected methamphetamine was located inside the residence in an unlocked closet approximately two feet off the floor. There were two elementary school-aged children that lived in the residence at the time of this incident. Based on the location of the suspected methamphetamine, Valencia-Velazquez willfully permitted the children to be placed in a situation where they could have suffered great bodily injury or death if they accidentally ingested the methamphetamine.
Valencia-Vazquez was booked into the MADF for the following violations:
- 11378 H&S – Possession of a controlled substance for sale.
- 11351 H&S – Possession of a narcotic for sale.
- 273a PC – Child endangerment.
