SRPD News Release: Bright Hair and Bold Jacket Lead to Quick Arrest in Bank Robbery

Bright Hair and Bold Jacket Lead to Quick Arrest in Bank Robbery

On Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at approximately 9:50 a.m., an adult female entered the Chase Bank located at 2300 Sonoma Avenue. She handed the bank teller a note demanding cash that included a written threat to kill people. No weapon was threatened or brandished. After taking an undisclosed amount of money from the teller, the female suspect left the bank. She was last seen walking away from the bank, and it was undetermined if she left the area on foot or in a vehicle.

Officers with the Santa Rosa Police Department (SRPD) responded to the area and began to search for the suspect after receiving her very identifiable description: a female with bright blue hair and a leopard print jacket.  Detectives with the SRPD Violent Crimes Investigations Team and a Field and Evidence Technician responded to the bank and assumed the investigation. Approximately one hour later, a patrol officer located the suspect inside the Montgomery Village Post Office. She was arrested without incident and identified as Jane Hollingworth, a 32-year-old female from Santa Rosa.

Hollingworth was arrested for 211 PC, robbery, and booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility.

The swift apprehension of the suspect highlights the vigilance, initiative, and coordinated response of SRPD patrol officers, whose keen observation and immediate action led to a safe resolution in a short period of time. Their ability to quickly locate and detain the suspect reflects the department’s ongoing commitment to public safety and proactive policing in our community.

Santa Rosa Police Department case number 26-4926.
