Officer Recovers Loaded Firearm After Traffic Stop and Search Warrant
On Friday, April 10, 2026, at approximately 11:56PM, an officer conducted a traffic stop for modified exhaust and unlawful license plate cover in the area of Mendocino Ave and Carrillo St in Santa Rosa. During the stop, the driver was identified as Gabriel Lindsey, a 52-year-old Rohnert Park resident.
The officer ordered Lindsey to step out of the vehicle, Lindsey became irate and refused to exit the vehicle. Lindsey was then placed under arrest for willfully disobeying a lawful order from the officer (2800(a) CVC).
Lindsey was transported to the Sonoma County Jail where prior to a custodial search, he confessed there were narcotics in his shoe. 12 individual baggies of suspected cocaine were located in his shoe. Each bag weighed approximately 1 gram. Lindsey was then charged with narcotics for sale (11351 HS). The officer then authored a search warrant for Lindsey’s residence in Rohnert Park. The warrant was reviewed and signed by a judge.
During a search of Lindsey’s residence, a 10mm Glock was located, along with a magazine loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition. A records check revealed the firearm had been reported stolen out of Suisun City. Approximately 2.5 ounces of suspected cocaine was also located in Lindsey’s residence.
Lindsey is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing firearms.
Lindsey was booked at the Sonoma County Jail for the following charges:
29800(a)(1) PC-Felon in possession of a firearm
29800(a)(1) PC-Felon/addict in possession of a firearm
30305(a) PC-Felon in possession of ammunition
496(A) PC-Possession of stolen property
11351 HS-Narcotics for sale
2800(a) CVC-Failure to obey lawful order from peace officer
