SRPD Thanks Community Following Peaceful No Kings III Protest
The Santa Rosa Police Department (SRPD) would like to thank the approximately 6,000 peaceful protesters from our community who participated in the No Kings protests, as well as event organizers, local businesses, residents, visitors, and motorists for their cooperation and patience throughout the afternoon. Your collective efforts contributed to a safe and welcoming environment for demonstrators and those dining, shopping, and enjoying Downtown Santa Rosa.
To support public safety during the event, temporary roadway closures were implemented from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the following locations:
- 4th Street at B Street
- 4th Street at D Street
- Mendocino Avenue at 5th Street (south of the intersection)
These measures were taken proactively to reduce traffic conflicts and ensure the safety of everyone in the downtown area. SRPD recognizes and thanks the community for planning ahead, following posted signage, and complying with traffic control personnel in surrounding areas, including Mendocino Avenue and Santa Rosa Avenue.
Roadways were reopened and barricades removed as soon as it was safe to do so following the conclusion of the event.
“We are committed to providing a safe environment for our community to exercise their First Amendment rights while also supporting residents, businesses, and visitors who are enjoying downtown Santa Rosa,” said Chief John Cregan. “Today’s event reflects the strength of our community and what is possible when people work together with respect and cooperation.”
The Santa Rosa Police Department appreciates the community’s partnership and patience, and thanks everyone involved for helping ensure a successful and peaceful event.
