5 People Arrested Related to Burglary of Local Musicians Co-op
On February 3, 2023, the Santa Rosa Police Department received a call from a local Musicians Co-op in the 800 block of Piner Rd. The owner arrived at the co-op in the morning and discovered the co-op had been burglarized and more than $30,000 worth of instruments and equipment had been stolen. A Community Service Officer took the initial report, checked for physical evidence, and contacted the SRPD Property Crime Team. No suspects were initially identified.
On February 17th, the diligent co-op owner located some of the stolen items being sold online. They reported the information to SRPD Property Crime detectives that were working the case. Detectives were able to identify the suspect, confirm the items were stolen, and locate the suspect in Petaluma. Later that day, detectives contacted and arrested Jarred Esquiro, a 35-year-old male from San Rafael. Esquiro was in possession of several items stolen from the co-op (instruments and music equipment).
Esquiro was county probation and required to submit to searches by law enforcement, as part of his conditional release. Detectives conducted a search of his residence in to 400 block of Mission Av in San Rafael. More stolen property from the co-op burglary and additional evidence about other suspects was located. Esquiro was later booked into the Sonoma County jail for the below charges. Esquiro is still in jail without a bail amount:
- 469PC – (Felony) Possession of Stolen Property [2 counts]
- 21310 PC – (Felony) Possession of a Dirk or Dagger
- 1203.2 PC – Violation of Probation (prior conviction for attempted burglary of an inhabited dwelling)
On February 21, 2023, at 10:45 am, SRPD Property Crime detectives searched a search warrant at a local motel in the 3100 block of Cleveland Avenue, after identifying the people believed to be responsible for the burglary of the musician co-op. During the search warrant, detectives contacted Corey Crabtree, a 37-year-old female from Santa Rosa, and Jeremiah Gasaiwai, a 32-year-old Santa Rosa resident. Additional stolen property and evidence from the burglary was located. Additionally, Gasaiwai is a convicted felon, and he was in possession cocaine and a ghost gun.
Detectives arrested both Gasaiwai and Crabtree, then served a search warrant at Gasaiwai’s residence in the 500 block of Mission Av, in Santa Rosa. During the search of the residence, more stolen property from the co-op burglary was located and a shotgun and rifle.
Corey Crabtree was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Jail for:
- 459 PC – (Felony) Burglary
- 182(a)(1) PC – Conspiracy to Commit a Felony Crime
- 11364(a) HS – (Misdemeanor) Possession of Control Substance Paraphernalia
Jeremiah Gasaiwai was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Jail for the below charges. He is still in jail with a $70,000 bail.
- 459 PC – (Felony) Burglary
- 182(a)(1) PC – (Felony) Conspiracy to Commit a Felony Crime
- 496(a) PC – (Felony)Possession of Stolen Property
- 29800(a)(1) PC – (Felony) Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm
- Numerous other firearm and narcotic possession offenses
During a search of the residence, detectives located more stolen property and discovered that Sheehan was aware the property was stolen and assisted with trying to sell it. Detectives also located methamphetamine and two handguns in Sheehan’s possession.
Banessa Soto-Hernandez was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Jail for:
- 459 PC – (Felony) Burglary
- 182(a)(1) PC – (Felony) Conspiracy to Commit a Felony Crime
- 496(a) PC – (Felony) Possession of Stolen Property
Robert Sheehan II was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Jail for:
- 496(a) PC – (Felony) Possession of Stolen Property
- 11370.1(a) HS – (Felony) Possession of a Control Substance & a Firearm
- 11377(a) HS – (Misdemeanor) Possession of a Control Substance
- 23920 PC – Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number
