SRPD News Release: Search Warrant Leads to Illegal Weapons Arrest

Search warrant leads to illegal weapons arrest and firearms manufacturing.

On 2/24/2026, the Santa Rosa Police Department Gang Crimes Team (SRPD GCT) served a search warrant at a residence in the 2500 block of Edgewater Drive. Officers from the SRPD Downtown Enforcement Team (DET) also assisted with securing the residence. During the search, detectives located an illegal assault rifle, a .40 caliber pistol, a .45 caliber pistol, loaded magazines, firearms parts, and a 3D printer.  Additional evidence located indicated the 3D printer was likely being used for the private manufacture of firearms, commonly referred to as “ghost guns.” Two juvenile male suspects (ages 16,17) were contacted at the residence in relation to the search warrant. They were subsequently arrested under 30605 PC, possession of an assault weapon; 29610 PC, minor in possession of a handgun; 23920 PC, possession of a non-serialized firearm; and 29010 PC, firearms manufacturing.  Both juveniles were booked at the Sonoma County Juvenile Justice Center.
