SRPD News Release: Vehicle collision into a residence
On Saturday, February 21, 2026, at approximately 6:00 p.m., Santa Rosa Police officers responded to a traffic collision involving a truck that had struck a residence in the 800 block of Burbank Avenue.
The driver—identified as 37‑year‑old Santa Rosa resident Diocelina Palacio‑Soriano—had first collided with another vehicle before continuing forward and crashing into the front of a home, causing significant structural damage. A juvenile was inside the other vehicle at the time of the initial collision.
A traffic accident investigator responded to the scene and conducted a DUI investigation. The investigation determined that Palacio‑Soriano was intoxicated. A chemical breath test showed a blood alcohol concentration of approximately 0.25%- more than three times the legal limit.
Palacio‑Soriano was arrested and booked into jail on the following charges:
Vehicle Code 23153(a) — DUI causing injury to a person other than the driver
Vehicle Code 23152(b) — Driving with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08% or higher
Penal Code 273a(a) — Child endangerment
The Santa Rosa Police Department prioritizes traffic safety citywide. DUI enforcement remains a key focus, and officers will continue proactive efforts to identify impaired drivers and reduce preventable injury collisions throughout the community.
