Santa Rosa Police Department Investigating Fatal Traffic Collision
Santa Rosa, CA — On Friday, December 26, 2025, at approximately 8:11 a.m., Santa Rosa Police Department (SRPD) officers responded to a report of a traffic collision involving injuries at the intersection of Santa Rosa Avenue and El Portal Drive. The reporting party indicated that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.
Officers arrived on scene along with personnel from the Santa Rosa Fire Department. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. SRPD Accident Investigators and Field Evidence Technicians responded and assumed responsibility for the investigation.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a Chevrolet Tahoe was making a southbound left turn onto Santa Rosa Avenue from a parking lot when it collided with a motorized scooter traveling northbound on Santa Rosa Avenue. The driver of the Tahoe, a 30-year-old Santa Rosa resident, reported not seeing the scooter prior to the collision. The rider of the scooter is a 61-year-old Rohnert Park resident.
The driver immediately stopped, called 911, remained at the scene, and is cooperating fully with the investigation.
The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
