SRPD Motor Officer Injured Following Collision
On November 18, 2025, at approximately 5:38 p.m., a Motor Officer with the Santa Rosa Police Department (SRPD) advised the SRPD Communications Center that he had just been involved in an on-duty traffic collision while responding to a call for service and.
The officer was operating an SRPD BMW motorcycle northbound on Mendocino Avenue, just north of Steele Lane, when the driver of a white Subaru Outback exited a parking lot in the 2200 block of Mendocino Avenue and attempted to cross into the southbound lanes of traffic. Despite the officer’s use of emergency braking techniques, he was unable to avoid a collision with the vehicle as it passed in front of him.
The officer suffered minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital before being released. The Subaru’s driver was uninjured, remained at the scene, and cooperated with the investigation. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the collision. The Subaru sustained minor damage, while the motorcycle also incurred minor damage and was towed from the scene.
Santa Rosa Police Department case number 25-12529.
