Mechanic/High/Mascoma Street Roundabout Project Update - Week of September 21, 2026
The contractor will continue working on both the concrete wall and the stone retaining wall and relocating overhead utilities. Base pavement operations for the roundabout will begin this week. Please be advised that once base paving is complete, a new traffic pattern will be implemented, and vehicles will begin using the roundabout’s travel lanes. Following base paving, sidewalk construction will commence.
Rail Trail access is now open at the Mechanic/High/Mascoma Street intersection, with flaggers assisting during active construction. Please continue to follow the detour currently in place.
Expect delays and use caution when traveling through the work zone.
