West Lebanon, NH – Route 12A Dry Bridge Closure
The City of Lebanon Department of Public Works is reminding the public that the South Main Street/Route 12A Dry Bridge will close to all vehicular traffic beginning at 7:00 AM on Monday, September 14, 2026, as part of the Dry Bridge Replacement Project.
This closure initiates the approved 365-day period during which the bridge will remain fully closed to all traffic. A designated detour will be in place for the duration of the closure, and motorists are strongly encouraged to follow the posted detour route rather than using local roads as alternatives.
From Points North: From Main Street in West Lebanon, follow Route 4 East along Seminary Hill, Miracle Mile, and Mechanic Street. Enter I-89 North and take Exit 20 to reach South Main Street/Route 12A.
From Points South: From South Main Street/Route 12A, enter I-89 South at Exit 20 and continue to Exit 19. Turn left onto Route 4 West/Mechanic Street and follow Route 4 West along Miracle Mile and Seminary Hill back to Main Street in West Lebanon.
A temporary pedestrian footbridge will be available on or before the start of the vehicle closure and will remain open throughout construction. The footbridge will be ADA accessible. For safety, bicyclists are encouraged to dismount and walk bicycles across the bridge.
The Dry Bridge closure will affect residents, businesses, schools, public transportation, and other travelers in the area. Please allow additional travel time, follow posted detour signs, and expect delays, particularly during the first several days of the closure.
Additionally, regarding the impact to Advance Transit (AT) public transportation, AT has notified the City that bus service to the plazas will continue during the closure. Riders will take the Red Route bus to Lebanon City Hall to access the plazas, and all plaza trips will depart from Lebanon City Hall. Riders can access the Red Route from the nearest stop at Main and Church, Opp Church and Main, or Shaw’s.
AT will NOT be able to serve its current corridor between Main Street and Hannaford during the closure. The following stops will NOT be served:
• 114 Romano Circle
• 115 Glen Road Plaza, Opp
• 128 Glen Road Plaza
• 129 Romano Circle, Opp

If you or someone you know cannot walk to the nearest stop because of a disability, AT encourages riders to please consider applying for the Access AT service.
